Injector seals are critical in maintaining a good tight seal between the injectors and the head. They keep the combustion gases from escaping the combustion chamber. However, they are known to leak from time to time and once they do, the injector seat inside the head may need to be machined some. If this is the case with your engine, then you need to use these extra thick seals on those injectors. The extra thickness of the seal makes up for the bit of metal that had to be removed. If you just use the stock injector seals after Black Death repair, you run the risk of the tip of the injector now sitting too low in the combustion chamber, causing a modified spray pattern on the head which could damage the head of the piston or cause an incomplete or improper burn.
